I love your writing and really enjoy reading about your Southern adventures with your beautiful family. With a love of cooking (baking...not so much) and a sober life (almost four years now!), I have found a way to love cooking without the wine (or the vodka) and got through even the most trying times one day at a time...many times with a cup of tea... Stay well...
Thank you so much, this comment really touched me. I'm so happy to hear of your sober-versary. It really is one day at a time, isn't it? I remember well your lovely home and amazing cooking. And I have a new baking cookbook (Dessert Person by Claire Saffitz) that claims "There are no 'just cooks' out there, only bakers who haven't yet been converted." Ha! Not sure I agree, but you would certainly enjoy the photography!
Baking is basically chemistry...and I never did well in chemistry! I’ll stick with something I know for now...something I can easily screw up and still call a success.
Please tell your hubby I’m happy for him and his journey.
I love, love, love Savanna...we may see you down there on the other side of this chapter.
